Fish respiratory system

We looked at the respiratory system of fish. We've learnt that the gill cover protects the layers of gills. The gills are red in colour due to the presence of blood in the gills. A fish takes in water from the mouth and as water flows over the gills, oxygen in the water is taken in by the blood vessels and carbon dioxide from the blood is dissolved in the water. The water will then flow out of the gills.

Here are some photos taken during the activity.

Interested to find out more about our respiratory system and remember what I mentioned about our epiglottis? What is it? Where is it? Watch the video to find out.
