Using colon
Do you know when do we use colon ( : ) in our writing?

1) after a statement which introduces examples or a list of items:
e.g. These were the things found in his pencil case: pencils, pens, erasers and rulers,

2) between a statement and its clarification:
e.g. My father taught us one important rule in life: always think before you act.
