- nose - allows air to enter and exit the body
- windpipe - transport air to the lungs and away from the lungs
- diaphragm - relaxes/ contracts to make chest bigger or smaller
- lungs (contain air sacs)-- allow oxygen to enter the blood and carbon dioxide to leave
Fish respiratory system
- Gills - Water carrying dissolved oxygen enters the mouth and passes through the gills. Gills take in oxygen.
Plant respiratory system
- Stomata - tiny openings found mostly on the underside of leaves where gaseous exchange takes place. Found mainly on the underside of leaves to reduce the amount of water loss.
- Respiration takes place throughout the day and night.
